Good service but not perfect for the price

Klara, stayed: July 2021

Dear all,

I had a lovely time at my stay. There are a few things I would like to point out. The hotel is not easy to find for those who are not arriving by car. The signs are confusing by the roads.

I was very lucky to meet Surina ( I do not know the spelling of her name), one of the waitresses on my way. She showed me the way to the hotel. A very nice and approachable person. She is very polite and has good knowledge about the surrounding places and activities. Her customer service skills are 10 out of 10.

Upon my arrival at the reception I was not very happy. The receptionist (dark haired) was not very friendly and I did not receive clear information about the dining facilities and the times for dining. Unfortunately, I do not know her name. Later in the afternoon the red haired one was very nice and gave me detailed information. There should have been some print outs or booklets about the dining times.

The waiters, waitresses and room staff were very nice, provided good customer service during my stay.

In overall I had a lovely time. Might go back one day.

Thank you all.

Kind regards,

Klara

NOT AS EXPECTED

Sharon, Kent, stayed: July 2021

The description of this hotel is very misleading our room was certainly not deluxe as booked. The room had very limited amenities, no glasses to drink water from, on arrival the kettle had water in from previous guests. The room was uncomfortably hot with an inadequate fan, the windows only opened 4 inches. The bedding was grey when supposed to be white sheets, there were stains on the bed throw. The bathroom had no window or ventilation and was extremely small. We paid extra to dine in the main restaurant and eat off the al a carte menu for our anniversary, but because the brasserie was full there were family's and guests eating burgers and chips on the next tables, which is not the ambiance of celebrating an anniversary in a very nice restaurant, we should have saved the money and eaten else where. The breakfast was very CAFE style and rushed your pre ordered cooked arrived as your eating your yogurt and fruit/cereal, so the food was cold by the time you started to eat it. Very limited choice of food on the breakfast buffet, the quality of the food was poor in both restaurants.

Helpful staff

Anon, stayed: July 2021

Hotel looked lovely and was set in lovely gardens. Had afternoon tea in Laura Ashley tea room when we arrived which was delicious and staff were lovely. Couldn t check in on time as room wasn t ready and when we did get to room it was tiny (we were booked into a superior room), it was in the loft area, faced onto the other building and was sweltering hot with only one tiny window and air conditioning was rubbish. Saw a manager at reception who showed us a room in the older part of hotel, needed updating but was much roomier and even though no air conditioning we had large windows we could open and faced onto gardens. Staff were brilliant but photos don t give you true perception of room you actually get. All in all lovely stay though.
