Lumley castle
Lovely looking hotel, but very cold, including the room we stayed in.
A few good walks around the castle but a car is necessary for anything else.
We wouldn t stay there again as there is nothing more for us to discover, as lovely as it was.
Our two day stay in April
Our room was in the stable block and was lovely. Drawback the restaurant was quite a walk from the room, and some of it was out in the open. Not good in bad weather.
The food in the evening was outstanding but the breakfast left alot to be desired. Obviously a change in chief.
The prosseco and chocolates left in our room was a lovely touch,also the late checkout.
Probably staying in the castle itself would make life easier with regard to the position of the restaurant.
Lumley Castle review
Unfortunately we had to return home on our third day as I was unwell and I never saw the outside of my room apart from the restaurant while my wife only walked around the grounds for a short while. The little food we had was excellent and the service of all the staff was most helpful at all times.
