Incredible castle.
I booked this as a package with dinner (up to 60), breakfast, late check out, prosecco and chocolates in a State Room for my husband's birthday. It was way beyond anything I could have expected. The room was luxurious and quirky with a four poster bed, amazing bath and hidden bathroom which was entered through what appeared to be a wardrobe. Thick towelling robes were provided as well as a good quality coffee maker and bottled water.
The dinner was excellent. We didn't realise that we had to pay the balance in the restaurant (thought it would be at check out). To save us going back down to the restaurant they sent a member of staff up to our room which we thought was excellent service.
A couple of small niggles which in no way spoiled our time - we didn't get the turndown service or the slippers advertised as part of the service (no big deal). The breakfast buffet was down a corridor and through a door from the restaurant so you have to carry your food back. The cooked breakfast was good quality but small portions so ask if you want two sausages or rashers of bacon.
Something different
Great package offered for our one night stay, including bottle Prosecco, lovely chocolates, 60 toward our meal and 20% off bottle wine. Food excellent for both evening meal and breakfast and staff attentive and very efficient. We had a castle state room with a very comfy four poster bed. Bathroom accessed through a wardrobe! Very quirky and would return with similar package offered.
Anniversary treat
Lumley Castle is a wonderful hotel, full of nooks and crannys to explore, our room was amazing, up a spiral staircase! Food was lovely and the staff really nice and helpful with allergies and food intolreances. Thank you
