Nice short break
We had taken advantage of a Telegraph offer & wouldn t have found the hotel otherwise as it was a short way from Durham where we wanted to visit. It was very quirky & very castle like. I think the description shabby chic was very apt here. Because of the castle like style the rooms very often windowless & therefore quite dark. The bedrooms were the same. The food was good but not outstanding. We probably wouldn t stay here again mainly because of the position of the hotel. One other point is that we left our phone charger in the room & despite ringing the next day & confirming it was there we still haven t received it back yet despite 2 further emails.
