Anniversary stay.
Staff very friendly and helpful . Food was excellent and served with style on hot plates. Lights in room were not great.
A relaxing stay in a fascinating building adapted to modern four-star standards.
We took a two-night midweek break. We would not hesitate to book again. The intriguing building has been updated to modern needs for luxury without the loss of its historic charm throughout. The restaurant provided well for vegetarians, for a two-night stay at least. The four-poster was most comfortable, and all modern facilities were to hand. I always test a hotel receptionist with a special request, which was promptly and courteously met. We enjoyed both the building and its grounds, which have been a topic of conversation with us and family and friends in the two weeks since.
2 night romantic break
We had a wonderful couple of nights and were upgraded from the courtyard to the main building. The staff were really helpful and polite. The food in the restaurant was superb and on the second night everywhere was really busy but there was no change in the service or the excellent food.
The room, although a little small, was very nice with a king size, comfortable bed and en-suite bathroom.
Well worth the visit.
