Location & Local Attractions

The White Swan sits right in the heart of Alnwick, a busy little town full of independent shops, cafes and traditional pubs and is just a stone's throw from Alnwick Castle and Gardens. The Castle was location for the filming of Harry Potter and Downton Abbey, and the seat of the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland. Alnwick Gardens, created by the Duchess, is one of the world's most extraordinary contemporary gardens, featuring the stunning Treehouse restaurant and infamous Poison Garden (the UK's deadliest). New for Spring 2023 is the spectacular Lilidorei Playground.

The White Swan is the perfect location to base yourselves for exploring the very best of the North East with its unspoilt coastline and historic landmarks. Discover Holy Island and Lindisfarne, Northumberland National Park and the exciting cities of Durham and Newcastle.
