Wood Norton review

The hotel and grounds were lovely. A great venue for weddings as we were there for two days and there were a wedding on both days but we didn t hear a thing. The restaurant food in the evening was a bit of a disappointment but breakfast was good. Drinks were very expensive. There was nowhere to go for a walk, considering we were in the Cotswolds, an area of outstanding beauty, we had to drive everywhere which was a bit disappointing. If you wanted a place to escape for the weekend or to get married then this is the perfect place.

A reasonably priced break.

The hotel grounds are very pleasant with good views of the surrounding country side. The hotel was clean and the decoration in good order with panelled walls floor and ceiling to all downstairs rooms. There was ample room to sit indoors or out, in private or in company. I requested a particular type flower to be in our room but this was not done, possibly difficult to get freesias in May?
The room was good, bed very comfortable but bath had deep sides making it difficult to get in for a bath or shower.
The restaurant was well furnished and comfortable but the service was slow and the menu was limited and the same for each night which was disappointing for a hotel of this class.

Pure relaxation

Absolutely lovely hotel with a fascinating history. Had a very relaxing 4 night break with husband and Mum. Excellent food, lovely comfy beds, beautiful rooms in the main hall, molton brown toiletries and huge walk in shower. Really nice grounds too. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. There were 2 weddings during our stay and staff were very busy but still attentive and helpful. Loved the hotel cat, Bear - very much the elder statesman! Good location, lots to see and do in the surrounding area. It rained on our first full day so we went to the Regal Cinema in Evesham, lovely art deco building with cabaret style seating - a great experience, watched Downton.
My only suggestion for the hotel would be to invest in some more salt and pepper pots as these seemed difficult to track down. Would love to go back and would be very happy to stay at the Wood Norton again.
