Outstanding food
Really nice place and location and the food was outstanding , service was excellent and quick and staff were very friendly and accommodating, only issue was the people in the room below us brought their dog which spend most of the night barking and crying so awake most of the night and tired the next morning but other than that a lovely place
Pure luxury
We had a wonderful stay at the cragwood hotel. We had a voucher as a wedding gift and used it for a 2 night stay. We had a bottle of prosecco in our room, and delicious 3 course dinners. The staff were so incredibly helpful, the grounds were beautifully kept, and location was perfect to explore the lakes.
We brought our 13 month old puppy too who loved the hotel, and grounds.
We would highly recommend
A delightful return to the Lakes
My wife and I don't often stay in hotels; when we do, it's quite a treat. Earlier this year I was looking for something special for our 30th wedding anniversary, and happened on Cragwood through Offpeak Luxury Hotels. It looked just the ticket and we were not disappointed. We spent five nights there soon after the end of school holidays, when crowds had subsided a bit. The setting is fabulous: a pre-supper drink on the terrace as the sun goes down became our regular treat after each day out in the Lakes. It would be hard to find a better view; the gardens are lovely, and well maintained, and the quiet is magical. In the main the hotel is tastefully and elegantly furnished. Dinner in the restaurant each night was quite superb at every level. The staff are uniformly helpful and accommodating and give the impression that Cragwood is a happy place to work at. Because we were on a bargain rate we weren't eligible for a room with a lake view: but that's fair enough. The only thing that spoilt our time - and it only did so a little - was one rather noisy mid-week wedding party: their exuberance didn't really suit the blissfully peaceful environment. But weddings are an important source of revenue for the hotel; numbers are limited to 20 during the week and other wedding parties were more restrained. We have the happiest memories of our stay there and don't think we could have found anywhere we would have enjoyed more.
