This authentic 1920s single-storey beach house, featuring charming weather-boarded exteriors and a fenced garden, is the ultimate dog-friendly escape, designed to cater to both summer bliss and winter warmth. A short drive away, the splendid dog-friendly expanse of Camber Sands awaits, inviting leisurely strolls along its expansive sandy shore.
The property itself boasts modern comforts, including double glazing, central heating controlled by smart Nest systems, and continuous hot water. Inside, the original painted floorboards, contemporary furnishings, and luxurious beds with 100% cotton linens enhance the charm. Dimmer switches in each room offer personalized lighting, and amenities like a travel cot and highchair are available upon request.
The House:
Step into a welcoming lobby with a bench and storage for coats, shoes, and games. The open-plan living room, kitchen, and dining area feature bi-folding doors opening to a spacious south-facing sun deck. The living space includes a smart TV, DVD player, Bluetooth music system, wood-burning stove, and comfortable seating. The fully-equipped kitchen boasts modern conveniences, including a Nespresso coffee pod machine.
Bedrooms and Bathroom:
- Bedroom 1: A twin room with adult-sized single beds, equipped with amenities like wall hooks, a chest of drawers, and a reading lamp. Modern Bathroom: Adorned with fired earth tiles, a bath with a powerful rain shower, underfloor heating, and a heated towel rail.
- Bedroom 2: Features a king-sized bed, side table with reading lamp, blanket box, and fitted shelved cupboard.
- Bedroom 3: Offers flexibility as a snug or a bedroom for children, with a daybed sofa and pull-out bed.
The Outside:
The property is surrounded by a fully enclosed south-facing garden, extending to a 20m? deck perfect for al fresco dining. Additional features include an outside tap for rinsing off dogs and surfers, a 6m? hard standing for various equipment, and secure storage for bicycles and beach gear. Private off-street parking is available for two cars.

Connect to the Bluetooth Bose speaker, relax on the outside sofa, and enjoy the chimenea while playing the curated Owlers Retreat Spotify Playlist, ensuring a delightful evening in this dog-friendly retreat.
Please Note: The Owlers Retreat offers 3 nights stays Friday to Monday or 4 nights Monday to Friday. Check in on Monday or Friday only. In July and August, Check in day is Friday only.
Bow Wow Factor
Has to be its proximity to Camber Sands which stretches for seven-miles — your pet can enjoy countless coastal walks.
Owlers Retreat has three bedrooms which can sleep up to six people, ideal for large families or a group of friends. Bedroom one is a twin room, bedroom two features a king-size bed and bedroom three, the smallest of the rooms, has a sofa bed with a pull-out bed underneath. All of the rooms follow the same clean and airy design of the house.
Dine with Your Dog
A self-catering cottage, Owlers Retreat has a fully-equipped open-plan kitchen with everything you might need. During the summer, open the folding doors to the large south-facing sun deck and dine al fresco! Dog-friendly pub The Owl is only a five-minute walk down the road with The Ship Inn and The Globe Inn close by or if you wish to leave your dog at the beach house, you could dine at The Gallivant restaurant nearby.
