Dog friendly hotel
As this was the first time we had took our dog away into a hotel we were unsure what to expect
Upon arrival and entering into our room their was a dog bed in the bedroom and a water bowl in the bathroom accompanied with a letter explaining the rules in regards to the do s and dont s with your pet.
We were surprised their was a beige carpet on the floor as we were expecting tiles / or wooden flooring
We went to reception to ask if there was a dedicated area in the hotel to clean our dog up ie hose pipe / sink area as we were planning to go walking and at this time of year obviously outside was wet and muddy but the receptionist said no there wasn t any facilities to clean your dog
Fortunately we had taken a washing up bowl and towels from home in order for us to clean our pet
Overall we did not feel the facilities on offer were dog friendly as we wanted to respect the room and keep it as clean as possible as the literature stated any damage to the room we would be charged for
The staff were very friendly to our dog offering a cooked sausage each morning which she really enjoyed

LOVELY HOTEL STAFF VERY HELPFUL RESTAURANT FOOD WAS GREAT.
ONLY DOWNSIDE ROOM WAS VERY SMALL FOR THE PRICE.
Couples Anniversary Retreat
A very pretty hotel in a stunning location. Has a private garden bordering the bridge and the ricer. Staff were without exception excellent. Our room overlooked the private garden and the main bridge over the stream. The room was very clean and well appointed.
The evening meal was disappointing in that my wife s salmon was full of bones and had no accompaniments. My sirloin steak although well cooked and tasty was on a bone, so not a sirloin.overall the food was overpriced. The breakfast however the next morning was very good.
Overall a thoroughly enjoyable stay.
