ANOTHER GREAT BREAK AT THE SWAN, LAVENHAM
This short break was most enjoyable with helpful staff, good weather and an ideal location. The Swan is an ideal platform for local walking, trips further afield, and comfortable surroundings. My visits to the Swan started in 1992, and I have made regular visits in the past thirty years. I look forward to our next break.
A short stay in Lavenham
Pleasant room, thoughtful fan (very necessary as it was very warm during our stay), champagne had become a little too warm, ice had melted and it totally exploded when the wire was removed - perhaps something to think about for the future. Bathroom toiletries were very nice.
DInner was good, we learnt that 3 smaller plates were a very good option after the scones and cream in the afternoon (also quite delicious). Breakfast was good, an interesting menu. Toast could appear when you actually wanted it.
The staff in all areas were very pleasant, engaged with each person, happy to talk about the history of the hotel and all appeared to enjoy working there.
2 NIght Stay
We had a very enjoyable 2 night break, which was very relaxing and we were well served by the friendly staff. The food was very good and the spa added another level to the relaxation.
Having always wanted to visit Lavenham, we were very happy to stay at the Swan which is well placed for exploring this lovely old town.

Lavenham itself is very picturesque. Call in at the Lavenham Greyhound, a dog-friendly pub just four-minutes' walk from the hotel. Also, visit Sudbury's water meadows — immortalised by the works of Constable and Gainsborough — for fabulous walking.
