Luxurious Staycation Guaranteed
The Swan at Lavenham is located in a beautiful historic town in a fabulous building.
From the minute you walk in, it is breathtakingly beautiful and comfortable and so cared for. We were there when all the Christmas Decorations were up and it was magical -
The staff are quite excellent - welcoming, nothing too much trouble and everyone smiled!! Obviously a happy place to work.
The restaurant is a lovely room in the hotel, but the menu reads better than it turned out for us that evening - we needed steak knives for the duck and the venison which was a shame. But other dinners were good. In a way a small point, but just feel there is some room for an improvement here.
Having said that, we would highly recommend The Swan, and we will be returning again and again.
Christmas treat
We stayed at The Swan just before Christmas on your one night deal, which included a bottle of Moet in our room on arrival, a two course dinner, breakfast and a cream tea!
Everything about our stay was fantastic and the village of Lavenham was picture perfect with twinkly Christmas lights along the main road. Even the light drizzle couldn't put a damper on our stay as we sat by an enormous log fire, watching the world drift by this medieval treasure.
We would thoroughly recommend it and hope to stay again next year!
Great location; great hotel and food.
Lavenham is a very picturesque village (small town?) in rural Suffolk. The Swan is at the heart of it and as a very historic building fits in beautifully with its location. The reception staff were most welcoming as were all of the staff whatever their function. Our room was basic but very comfortable and functional. We were booked on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis (with an afternoon tea on one day), and the meals were all beautifully prepared and presented. The chef is to be congratulated for his attention to detail. The duck and venison were particularly well prepared and presented.
Overall, a most enjoyable stay and a perfect birthday present for my wife.
