Disappointing after having stayed here previously
We stayed from Sunday 27th September, checking out on Wednesday 30th September, having booked two Suffolk rooms.
Our room (16) was as described, but the bathroom was very poorly maintained, and not what we would have expected from the Swan, having stayed there some time ago. The grouting around the tiles above the bath was cracked and filthy, and the side of the bath was damaged and cracked. The control for the pop-up waste in the sink was missing, which meant that my husband had to shave with the water running, and it also made it difficult to clean the cups and glasses (due to C0vid there was no room service). Other hotels in the area have maintained room service.
Our friends stayed in room 4. This room was considerably smaller than ours, characterless and drab. They were very disappointed with the room, which they thought was probably a basic room. This room had leaks in the bathroom.
In general, staff were wearing masks, but some staff consistently wore masks under their noses when they weere serviing in the restaurant, where they are handling food and standing above us to serve the table. This is appalling and should be addressed by the hotel management.
The food was generally good, although the menu was the same for all 3 nights.
We were disappointed at the overall standard, having stayed in the hotel some time ago and found everything very good.
We emailed the hotel with our observations 6 days ago, but we are still awaiting a response.
