Simply the Best!
A beautiful, luxurious hotel, full of character and charm, with very professional staff, who could not be more willing to make your stay a success. A bottle of chilled champagne awaited our arrival! We dined in the fabulous restaurant each of our six days and found the food to be delicious with lots of choice. The menu changing twice during our stay. Breakfasts were a delight! Our room had a four poster bed that was so comfortable and towels and toiletries were changed daily as required. The Spa facilities were an added bonus(I had a lovely face and neck massage).
The great weather meant that we were able to take advantage of the garden and outside seating areas, including the caned seating terraces outside the Spa. But had it not been so, the large number of intimate lounges, the airmens' bar and the bistro area provided lots of indoor space.
Finally, what a location! Lavenham is somewhere not to be missed! Beautiful walks amongst amazing houses and countryside. We even hired a personal tour guide to take us around the town and church. A definite bonus.
Overall, a great holiday in a great hotel!
Relaxing mid-week break
The Swan at Lavenham is a delightful ancient inn in the fabulous, mostly 16th Century, wool town of Lavenham. We had a great three day, two nights stay from Tuesday to Thursday. The dinner and afternoon tea included, one of each, were excellent, the breakfasts wonderful. The room and hotel public areas were very comfortable, and the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. We spent time in the spa, walked the town trail, and explored some lovely country footpaths nearby. We also visited the local museum, and used our free tickets to visit Gainsborough's house in Sudbury. With visits to nearby Long Melford and Clare, also lovely old towns, there was plenty to do in the area. This was a good value break and we shall be using offpeakluxury.com again!
