Beautiful village and charming hotel
Very accommodating reception team. Although our room (36) was comfortable, it was very hot and with the windows open to the high street below, very noisy from an early hour. Understandably as a listed hotel, there is no air conditioning however, fans are provided (and the weather has been exceptionally hot). As this was my 60th birthday treat, we enquired whether another, quieter room was available and this was actioned without hesitation, in a very friendly and efficient manner. Due to traffic and trade unloading, I would suggest requesting rooms not facing the high street. Both rooms were well presented with all the extras you need, including lovely toiletries. Restaurant was pleasant, although nothing jumped off the menu at us and be aware that the wine, after dinner coffee and gratuities are extra on your bill. With 10% gratuities, 2 glasses of wine and coffee over 2 evenings cost an additional 82 at the end of our stay.

Despite the terrible journey there and back the hotel and staff more than made up for the grief

Room 56 was good with everything we would expect , neat and tidy too. The staff were very helpful although under pressure at times as were short staffed. Really intrigued by a 62 degree egg on menu which was unusual and fab.as was the steak.
Will look to come again soon !
