Excellent all round, can't wait to stay again
The Swan is such a beautiful place to stay with the support from helpful, friendly and professional staff.
The hotel is absolutely stunning inside because of the original wooden beams and old world wood features which adorn the walls and ceilings everywhere. The rooms are so pretty and very spacious. Our room was The Constable room which has its own lounge area up some quaint narrow stairs above the main bedroom. The only thing I'd say slightly spoilt it was a slight damp musty smell in this particular room. In the Gallery and Brassery restaurants the service and the food were first class. I'd say 6 star plus. The var was very comfortable and had a large selection of ales, beers, wines and spirits etc. The friendly barman took us on a tour of the hotel with its up and down narrow corridors and also large meeting, party and banqueting rooms which are all still original from the 14th and 15th century's. The location is right in the centre of this amazing historic village. It's right on the high street and only 5 mins walk from all attractions. The air and ambience in the hotel was happy and relaxed. Can't wait to go back and stay longer.
Wedding anniversary
The property did not meet my expectations. Considering it was our Ruby wedding anniversary, we were not offered any form of upgrade.
On arrival the place was dull of day trippers who took over, and residents were displaced.
Our room was ordinary and not in keeping with the rest of the hotel.
Restaurant service was exceptionally slow and on our second evening they ran out of a lot of items on the menu.
Wedding Anniversary Stay at the Swan
For some time we have planned to stay at The Swan Lavenham.
We were certainly not disappointed.
The room was very cosy with lovely attention to detail.
The meals were superb.
The building is amazing and very well maintained.
Absolutely full marks to the wonderful staff; from reception to housekeeping, bar and restaurant. They all made us feel very welcome, with impeccable service and attention to detail.
