Mid-Week break
Staff were very friendly and helpful. The location of the Swan in Lavenham is an ideal base for touring Suffolk. Meals from the restaurant were of good quality and quantity, this was somewhat spoilt on the first night of our stay, 29th June, when the service was extremely slow, hours for a 3 course meal. Our bedroom (No26) could not be described as " Luxurious", adequate would be more appropriate. When I made the booking, I was advised that the price was based on a "Standard Bedroom", but we would be upgraded, I'm not certain if we received an upgrade.

Service very good, spa and all staff very good, food excellent, room had a few faults that let it down . Overall lovely stay
Characterful hotel but ...
This was our second visit and the ambience was the same as before. Our room was somewhat smaller than previously, and pleasantly timbered with a modern bathroom. We left with a good impression of the restaurant last year, but this year we felt that dinner was not as good, with the beef and venison dishes a little tough. The champagne and complimentary house wine as part of the OPL deal were very enjoyable.
