Woburn hotel and restaurant. Woburn
This Hotel beak was ought from children to celebrate my 70th birthday. On arriving at the hotel, we thought this is nice. When we went to the room, I was appalled at the state of the bathroom. The toilet was badly stained, it obviously had not been cleaned properly for a long time, the bath had black mould on the tiles. The shower was diverted from the bath tap, that didn t work. The outlook was a brick wall. The pillow protectors were grey and bobbly. As for the cups for tea, They were the size of soup bowls. I did take pictures.
I did complain to the receptionist, and showed her the photos. She said she would notify Housekeeping. Also said the staining was because it s a hard water area. This is not acceptable. We were moved to another room that was a little better, the toilet was just as bad. We had no choice but to accept as the hotel was full. The breakfast was not great, I ordered a vegetarian breakfast with sweet potato, the potato was cold, when I asked the waiter why were they cold, the answer was this how it comes, it was sent back, and warmed up, but by then I didn t want it, and just had cereal. I then asked for a banana, there were none, but offed oranges instead.
A pleasant hotel in a lovely village
All the staff we met during our stay were pleasant and helpful. We were upgraded to a suite which was a pleasant surprise. The bed was very comfortable giving a good night's sleep. The shower was powerful. The only criticism of the room was that the floorboards were very creaky. Dinner in the restaurant was OK but nothing special. Breakfast was good but could have been better with some small changes. Overall it was a good stay.
Midweek Overnight stay
Pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Lovely location in the middle of pretty Woburn. Close to lots of attractions. Room very nice. Restaurant menu choice and ambience very good. All in all enjoyed our stay very much.
