Excellent stay at Bovey Castle
Had a wonderful one night stay at Bovey Castle. It is in a beautiful location with stunning views over the countryside. We stayed in a castle room which was lovely with a nice spacious bathroom. Thoroughly recommend this room.
There is a bit of a staffing issue as is the case with many places at the moment but this did not affect our stay.
We ate in Smith s Brassiere and the service and food were excellent.
The swimming pool is really nice and a it was a shame the sauna and steam room were still closed but for obvious reasons.
There are loads of activities to do at the hotel if people want to
We would definitely stay here again.
Great getaway
Stayed in Bovey Castle for 4 nights. We were extremely well looked after with the staff being friendly and helpful throughout. The hotel has good facilities both at the spa and outdoors including a golf course which seems very popular . The grounds are extensive with lots of walks to take if the weather permits! The restaurant provided excellent choice both at breakfast and dinner and the bar has an amazing number of gins and whiskeys! A thoroughly enjoyable stay.
Two night golf break
We spent two nights on a dinner bed and breakfast package. Our room was spacious and very comfortable with an excellent en suite bathroom. The room had all the amenities we needed. The hotel itself has large comfortable lounges in which to enjoy a drink or two and two restaurants. We used the Smiths Brasserie and found the menu variety very good. The food was very nice although we felt the eggs benedict at breakfast could have been better and our second evening fillet steak was good but also could have been better. All staff were efficient and friendly.
