Stayed for a special birthday
We recently stayed for 2 nights via offpeak luxury. Upon arrival we had been upgraded to a junior suite. The room was great although could have done with a bit of an update. The second night was spoiled by very noisy people above us but not the hotels fault just inconsiderate people. The food and service was great. We changed our champagne to afternoon tea with was lovley. We ate in the restaurant with the offer but had to pay a surcharge for a steak which wasn't mentioned anywhere in the offer of in the restaurant. We never received our after dinner coffee etc either. Be aware if you order at the bar they charge you a service charge on top for pouring you a pint which i think isn't good. Apart from the the hotel was great. Hotel.is approx 4miles from Windsor so an uber costs about 10 each way.
Gorgeous hotel and fantastic food
We had the loveliest two night stay at stoke place which included a 3 course meal with the most incredible food, and two mornings of breakfast with Aga who was just the loveliest and most helpful person we ve ever met. We can t thank her enough for her professionalism alongside friendliness and her ability to remember which toast we had the day before and have it already on its way to our table before we had ordered. The room we had was big, spacious clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay and it was a fantastic pairing to our trip to Lapland uk.
Lovely break
We always celebrate our birthdays with a staycation. Stoke Place was ideally situated for convenience. The staff were lovely, all of them. Although one of us is not very good at walking we managed the stairs, as there is no lift, fairly easily. The receptionist very kindly took our suitcase up for us and because we have stayed with offpeakluxury several times and also because the hotel was not busy we were upgraded to the enormous Queen Anne suite. Wow, larger than the whole floor space of our house. It was a bit of a trek for us to the bar, however, drinks were served to us in the lounge. The King & Lamb restaurant had a varied menu and the food was freshly cooked, hot on arrival and nicely presented. The help yourself breakfast was good and the cooked dishes were also hot upon arrival and nicely presented. The staff cosseted us and could not have done more to make our stay more welcome. The grounds with the lake was wonderful and so unexpected in a built up area. We are going to pop in for coffee when our friends from other parts of the country come to visit, especially our photographer friend and birding friends.
