You can dine with your dog in the bar area of the hotel. Head chef Ricci Smith, a Devonian himself, has a passion for cooking and uses locally sourced ingredients to create great dishes. The Dartmouth smoke house provides all smoked food, bread is baked on the premises, beef locally sourced from Dunterton farm and fish from Dartmouth fishmongers, with fruit and vegetables from a local supplier in Totnes. House favourites include Dartmoor bred sirloin steak and spicy Devonshire beef chilli. Afternoon tea and a Sunday Carvery are also recommended. If you would prefer to dine in the Bistro you can leave your dog for a well earned rest in the room.

Couple of non-golfers staying for 2 nights in August
We stayed in a double room overlooking the putting green for a couple of nights in August. As non-golfers we chose the hotel for proximity to lovely Dartmouth and the glorious Blackpool Sands, each of which are 10min drive away.
We ate in the restaurant on our first night. There was plenty of choice on the menu, staff were attentive, and service was good. However the food was underwhelming and we chose to eat elsewhere on our second night.
Breakfast was also disappointing, with little choice for cooked breakfast, narrow selection of fruits/cereals, and poor coffee.
We greatly enjoyed the spa. It offers a good range of well maintained facilities, and was easy to use.
Overall, the hotel felt a little understaffed, which may be a result of a more industry-wide problem coming out of the pandemic. This meant that we were waiting around slightly longer than we would have liked at various times during our stay.
On out next visit to this lovely part of Devon, we will likely opt for a different hotel.
Dated over priced
I do not recommend this hotel I would not even give it 3 star rating.on arrival we were not asked if we needed any help with luggage we then had to walk though the restaurant to reach out hotel room. Room very dated , bathroom had a broken sink plus broken floor tiles on the floor. They advised our room would be cleaned after our second night. When we returned from a day out room was touched plus our dirty goals were still left. The restaurant is ok and good value for money plus staff work very hard when they are very short staffed. Over priced rubbish hotel. I have stayed in travel lodge better than this hotel.
Great Team, Good food
This is a golfers hotel with groups of golfers staying at the hotel. We are not golfers but still had a lovely stay. Food is very good, obviously the hotel must have a very competent chef as all the food we had was lovely including breakfast. As it is a golf hotel the location is not within walking distance of Dartmouth town so you need a car to drive. Taxis in Dartmouth are not good so if you are using one to get down to the town then make sure you book a return trip. Our hotel room was good. The staff are excellent and it seemed from the communication we saw from the manager he/she drives a great culture in the hotel whereby staff are extremely customer ficused. I would recommend the boat trip to see agatha christies house from the town. A good 2 days away and would recommend
