A little gem hidden away in the Lake District.
We were greeted with a smile and a welcome drink. What more can you ask for. The hotel is very comfortable, with cosy public areas furnished in a country cottage style with open fires. A well stocked bar. The bedroom was pretty with a good sized en suite with bath and overhead shower. Good wardrobe space.
The restaurant is nicely appointed although if you are seated by the open kitchen in the evening it is very noisy due to the fans. The menu is good but a few more green vegetable/salads would have been appreciated at dinner. The smoked steak prepared in house is absolutely wonderful.
The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring the area. It is set in its own woodland. There is lots of parking.
This is a super hotel and what makes it even better is the staff. Professional, super friendly and helpful. We had a great time!
