Has to be the 400 acres of a private estate for your pooch to explore! They'll even have access to sniff around Bassenthwaite Lake, one of the largest lakes in the National Park.
There are a number of dog-friendly ground floor rooms with easy access to the gardens. All bedrooms have lovely lake views, Egyptian cotton bed linen, TV with Sky channels, hairdryer, trouser press, tea & coffee making facilities, bathrobes and slippers and fresh fruit on arrival. All furry guests will receive a dog bed with a comfy cushion, dog treats and waste bags on arrival. There is even a doggie hairdryer available!

Good and bad
Positive; spa, pool and gym excellent. Room good and pet friendly as we took our dog. Negative; fine dining in the Lakeside restaurant poor, same menu for 3 consecutive days, bland and of poor quality. After first night we ate in Brasserie as did other guests who had the same opinion of Lakeside restaurant. All silverware needed cleaning as it was very tarnished. Food in Brasserie was better. On leaving we were charged £45 for our dog. I had to point out to them that we had paid for our dog in the prepaid package with you.

Was supposed to be a break.
I would not book meals again as we paid up front but don t believe we used or spent that much,
The Bar staff were excellent, the room was basic & very dated, looked like the tile grout was all falling out,
There was no receipts to sign from the restaurant or the bar, it just felt like there was no one in charge or taking responsibility,
Issues with staff brought to the attention of a manager but nothing seem to happen

Situated within the Lake District National Park, there are miles and miles of country and fell walks for you and your best furry friend to enjoy. Walk around the lakes and tarns, have a sniff around the hotel grounds, bike through Whinlatter Forest and breathe in that salty air along Solway coast. If you have time, The Cat Bells & Lakeshore is well worth a visit with your furry family members. Enjoy the stunning views and an absolutely wonderful walk for everyone visiting Keswick.
