Great stay
A lovely little hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. The food was very nice and good portions.
We had a garden room with a door leading out onto the lawn which was great as we had a dog with us. The hotel is very dog friendly.
You can walk into Ambleside from the hotel as there is a footpath the whole way. A very good location.
Wonderful stay for our 50th Wedding Anniversary
We stayed at Briery Wood overnight in early August 2022 to celebrate my wife's 70th Birthday and our 50th Wedding Anniversary.
The staff could not have made us more welcome and everywhere we went members of staff would approach to congratulate us.
Our garden room was very comfortable and well equipped, including very good quality Pennington's coffee and a coffee machine.
Overall we throughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to visiting again in the near future.

An enjoyable two days in the Lake District
My wife and I had another very relaxing and most enjoyable two nights here at Briery Wood since last we were here in November 2021 - and the weather was kind to us too!
As before, the staff were very welcoming and friendly, the garden room was very clean and tidy and the bed was most comfortable. The quality of the food in the restaurant was very good and the service was good too. However, we would have found the menu choices to be very limited had we been staying more than two nights but, upon mentioning this on our departure, were assured that this could be addressed by the kitchen, if given advance notice.
We certainly hope to visit again in the not-too-distant future.
Well done - keep up the good work.
