Mini-moon spa stay

Andrew T, Surrey, stayed: July 2021

Overall we enjoyed our experience and would certainly consider returning. There were a number of things that were not amazing, even though we expected them to be so. Having said that, it didn t spoil our visit as we were newly weds and on cloud nine!
Main gripes are: stains all over the room - on the sofa and on the floor by the bed. Food was ok, nothing mind blowing or exceptional, including the breakfast which was over cooked on the first day. There was a mix up with the bill at check out which was a little frustrating, although rectified immediately, I d rather not have to correct the front desk in the first place.
Positives: great spa, friendly staff who were very attentive and made a real effort to remember you and chat, lovely atmosphere, great location.

Short Honeymoon

Anon, stayed: July 2021

We stayed for a short honeymoon. Staff were very friendly and the restaurant was really good. I am a coeliac and they were able to make things on request, which does not happen very often.
Only small niggle was that we really enjoyed our time in the Spa but we were unable to have a go in the outside jacuzzi as the same people were sat in there for over an hour rather than the recommended 15 mins, perhaps staff should keep a closer eye on this as I think there were a few disappointed couples on the afternoon we were there

Difficult times.

AW, Somerset, stayed: July 2021

Unfortunately our 3-night break coincided with a heightened Covid 19 outbreak in Falmouth.

The Hotel struggled with staffing issues e.g. closure of Spa, service delays in the bar and restaurant and room servicing.

So it is really difficult to give a fair and honest review of what one might expect during normal times and out rating reflects what we personally experienced.

In fairness the Hotel did make some adjustment to our final bill but nevertheless had we known beforehand of the difficulties under which they were trying to operate we probably would not have gone.

We do hope the situation improves for them and others in the hospitality sector.
