Great hotel. Excellent staff.
We had a lovely 3 day break . The spa was amazing the staff we so welcoming and helpful. We can't wait to come back and stay. Just exactly what we needed.

The hotel is situated opposite a beach but you would need a car to get to the town centre.
There are no local shops within walking distance to buy drinks or snacks etc but believe a Co-op will be opening in the new apartment block in front of the hotel later this year.
We stayed in a room in the Captains House and it was much smaller than expected and the balcony tiny. There were chocolate fingerprints on one of the light switches and the bathroom radiator was very dusty and grubby and hadn t been cleaned for months and I had to wipe it down before I wanted to leave our towels on there.
The staff are all mostly young but always very polite and friendly but service was a bit hit and miss especially in the bar. We felt it was lacking a supervisor or manager to oversee things as we had to wait ages to get drinks even when the lounge bar was quiet and there was always plenty of staff working so that wasn t the issue.
The food in the restaurant was excellent and well worth the long wait.
We had an afternoon in the spa which is lovely but felt the luxurious feel was missing as left over crisp packets, empty plastic glasses and used towels were not collected up and made it feel a bit untidy and spoilt the look of the spa area.
Overall we were happy with our stay but felt the hotel definitely needs some managerial guidance to keep things running smoothly.

Nice few days spent at St Michaels - lovely clean room - comfy bed - liked the 15 voucher incentive for missing towel change etc
Food in restaurant- good choice and well presented and very tasty
Didn t use the Spa so can t really comment
Staff very friendly and helpful
Only downside - the large monstrous new development now positioned in front of the hotel blocking most of the lovely view
