Swan Hotel
This was a perfect three days. The only fly in the ointment was that on my booking reservation it said my package included two dinners in the restaurant each evening. It did not. As I had a single occupancy in my room I had only one dinner per evening and had to pay in full for my other guest/guests. This should have been made clear from the start. In future I will be booking direct with the Swan and not through an agency because the 18 fee should have paid for accuracy. It did not,

Our packages are based on two people sharing which is shown on our website. Some of our hotels are prepared to offer a discount for single occupancy and details of this can then be seen on the hotel confirmation for the benefit of the customer and the hotel. For your reservation we were able to obtain a discount which was applied to your booking and shown on your confirmation. We do however take on board your comments regarding the wording as this refers to double occupancy.

A jewel in the crown of Lavenham
In spite of the fact that Lavenham is indeed uniquely attractive and interesting, and pretty dead at this time of year, we had a fantastic time. The hotel is definitely a must with its crooked rooms and charming atmosphere. The staff were very friendly, the food was delightful. The staff at the spa were exceptional and the spa itself quite lovely. My only criticism? Perhaps a little more flexibility at breakfast? Being served at breakfast is certainly a luxury, however, the fixed order of play was a little confusing!

A beautiful hotel in a very special historic building. we were upgraded to a superior room which was large and very comfortable. A slightly less impressive bathroom but still nice.
The deal we did included eve meal on first night in the main dining room. it was a slightly stilted quiet ambience but extremely helpful waiter and wine expert , yet not snooty.
on the second eve we ate in the bistro style restaurant, again highly recommended , posh pub grub with some nice extras.
A great hotel for a short break, suberbly located for exploring suffolk and the coast not too far away.
