At the reception, Luigi was greeted by name and offered a tasty cheesy bone and a bowl of water. Spotting the hotel’s doggie shop right away, Luigi ran over to the glass cabinet and stared at its prize possession, the golden tennis ball! The hotel offers a number of well-thought-out items for purchase, just for your furry friend; dog packs, blankets, doggie bags, delicious cheesy bones, yaki chews & doggie ice cream.
Wanting to make the most of our weekend break, we arrived at the hotel ahead of check-in and left our bags with the hotel staff. We grabbed our complimentary walking maps and asked the team for their recommendations for the perfect mid-morning stroll. And off we went to the sweeping Malvern hills.
After embarking on a lengthy 3-hour stroll, during which Luigi needed carrying for the final 20 minutes, we made our way back to the hotel for check-in. At the Paws and Welly Wash station, we cleaned off Luigi’s muddy paws before being shown to our beautifully designed Superior Double Room. Inside, we were delighted to discover a thoughtful array of amenities, including a bag of wholesome dog treats, handy walking maps, a snug dog bed, and a set of dog bowls. As we settled into the inviting warmth of the room, Luigi happily dozed off in his comfy dog bed. I ran downstairs to purchase one of Colwall Park’s Dog Packs, which included a snug blanket, convenient doggie bags, a collapsible bowl, and, undoubtedly Luigi’s most cherished possession, a tennis ball. Luigi spent the remainder of his time in Worcestershire happily clinging to his beloved tennis ball.

Explore the Hotel Gardens and Beyond
Despite the drizzly weather, with such easy access to the gardens and the hills beyond, we spent most of our time outdoors. Luigi absolutely loved running and playing in the beautiful garden while we relaxed on a bench and soaked up the peaceful atmosphere. And the hotel staff are more than happy to provide guests with recommendations for nearby walks and dog-friendly venues, ensuring that you make the most of your time in Worcestershire.
On our first afternoon, we took a stroll around the village followed by a short drive down to Malvern, where we stopped for lunch at one of the many dog-friendly restaurants. We dined at the cosy independent family-run restaurant, while Luigi took a peaceful nap by our feet. Serving up delicious tapas-style dishes, The Fig Kitchen and Deli, is an ideal spot for those seeking a warm doggie-welcome, calm atmosphere and mouth-watering cuisine. We ventured just across the road to Weavers of Malvern, a lovely dog-friendly pub that serves a diverse selection of real ales, craft beers, ciders, wines, and spirits. This pub warmly embraces canine companions both day and night, frequently playing host to lively live music events that entertain both the two- and four-legged crowd.
The next day, fueled by a sense of adventure and a desire to explore more of Worcestershire, we stepped beyond the confines of the hotel grounds. Following yet another trail from our complimentary walking maps, we continued our journey of discovery, immersing ourselves in the captivating natural beauty that Worcestershire had to offer. Luigi completely surrendered to the tranquillity of the landscape.
