It’s a great place for a picnic, or you can dine with your dog at the island pub, The Ship Inn.Visit the windswept beaches at Roanhead Beach - a National Trust beach with a large expanse of beach for active dogs to run off the lead. Also, take your furry friend to the Sandscale Haws National Nature Reserve with gorgeous shifting sand - enjoy a wild stroll out to Scarth Bight Bay and Lowsy Point with their views over to Walney Island.Barrow, Ulverston and Dalton town centres are also no more than a 10-minute drive away. Other attractions include the ruins of Furness Abbey, and the popular Lake District attractions of Bowness and Windermere are a 30-minute drive away.
