1. Bray Cottages, Berkshire

A wonderful choice for a gourmet dog-friendly break in a super luxury cottage, less than an hour from London! You will be enchanted by any of the lovely dog-friendly cottages which are situated in the delightful village of Bray. Spend the day walking in the wonderful countryside nearby – the owner’s labradors may also be free to join you on a walk – and in the evening enjoy a gourmet meal at Heston Blumenthal’s Fat Duck (book ahead), the Waterside Inn or his dog-friendly gastro pub The Crown. 2. Blue Door Barns, East Sussex

Just under two hours from London and a world away are Blue Door Barns – a cluster of stylishly decorated dog-friendly barns and stables set around a pretty courtyard garden in rural Sussex. 3. Pennyhill Park, Surrey

Pennyhill Park, is a luxury spa hotel set on 123 acres of fairy-tale woodland, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind with lovely woodland walks for you and your pup. At just over an hour’s drive from central London, Pennyhill is a wonderful retreat for furry friends and families not wanting to travel too far and perfect for a puppy’s first trip. 4. The Bell Inn in Ticehurst, East Sussex

Located just an hour and a half from London, this is one of our most dog-friendly destinations – and it’s seriously dreamy too! Located in the heart of the beautiful village of Ticehurst village, this stylish yet quirky 16th-century hotel features charming decor and offers dog-friendly rooms in the hotel or luxury lodges, including the Love Nest, which comes with its own gardens and fire pit. Country walks are on the doorstep and coastal walks to towns and beaches are just a short drive away. Plus you can dine with your dog in the super cool bar in the evening. 5. The Merry Harriers, Surrey

Just a stone’s throw from the capital is the Merry Harriers, a charming, traditional pub in a gorgeous location deep in the Surrey Hills, in an area of outstanding natural beauty. For a unique glamping experience, you and your furry friend can stay in one of their delightfully quirky Shepherd’s huts, which surround a tranquil pond and offer stunning views of the Surrey Hills beyond. Each hut features underfloor heating, a wood-burning stove and charming decor. 6. The Lygon Arms, Cotswolds, Worcestershire

There are many great walks right from the doorstep; we especially recommend a climb up to Broadway Tower where there’s a lovely dog-friendly cafe and stunning views that span across 17 counties. There’s a fabulous spa that offers a variety of beauty treatments and also includes a nails and tails spa day – joint treatments for you and your pooch! Dog friendly rooms come with a dog bed, treats and dog bowls for food. There’s also a muddy paws station located in the courtyard, perfect after a day of adventurous Cotswold walks.

7. The Hive,Kent

The Hive is a super bright and spacious dog-friendly hideaway nested in a rural location just a bone’s throw from Tunbridge Wells, with London and the Kent coast just one hour away. This beautifully designed open-plan space was inspired by the surrounding nature and organic beekeeping, complete with contemporary furniture, exposed beams, pieces of art, industrial retro lights, a cosy log burner and soft rugs. 8. The Thomas Lord, Hampshire

Just an hour and a half from London is the Thomas Lord, which combines a super dog-friendly pub with five beautifully built, luxury wood cabins with doors leading out to the lovely grounds. Perfectly positioned in the quaint Hampshire village of West Meon and among the picturesque rolling hills, this makes a marvellous dog-friendly getaway that places you right in the heart of the Meon Valley. The cabins are located close to the historic market town of Petersfield, and there are wonderful countryside walks from the doorstep. The pub itself has a reputation for its excellent food, especially the Sunday Roast! 

9. The Beach Huts and Beecroft

With direct access to the stunning seaside, the dog-friendly beach huts and The Beachcroft Hotel are perfectly placed for a coastal getaway in West Sussex. Cosy and comfortable, each hut features colourful, modern design and quirky, artisan furnishings, alongside a wealth of creature comforts. Felpham beach is right on the doorstep offering endless opportunities for beachside strolls with your pet. The hotel dates back to the 14 century and has lovely features including panelling and original beams. Stay in one of their truly gorgeous dog-friendly mews cottages and enjoy wooftastic walks with your furry friend in the 365 acres of woodland and parkland and then dine in style in their Michelin-starred Bybrook restaurant or with your dog at the Castle Inn.
