Overview

Built in the 16th-century from local, honey-coloured stone, the dog-friendly Acorn Inn is a traditional British pub and hotel in the heart of Evershot. Dogs are greeted with a warm welcome. Literary fans will notice that the inn is mentioned in Thomas Hardy's novel Tess of the d'Urbervilles as The Sow & Acorn, little has changed since this era. Expect stunning old beams, low ceilings, oak panelling, flagstone floors and roaring open fires, The Acorn Inn retains much of its historical charm. On your doorstep, you will find countless footpaths that will keep tails wagging all around. From stunning coastlines to national parks and heathlands, Dorset has something to suit everyone.
