Overview

The Bearslake Inn is a dog-friendly, Grade II listed former longhouse dating back to 13c - situated in the heart of Dartmoor. Located between the small market towns of Tavistock and Okehampton, Bearslake Inn makes an ideal base for exploring the delights of the local Moors and Tors of the National Park with your best furry friend in tow. The bedrooms are extremely spacious making them ideal if you have more than one dog. Just two miles south of the A30 on the border between Devon and Cornwall, it is easy to reach and yet is set amidst glorious remote walking country - perfect for a dog-friendly escape. The magnificent Sourton Tor, Corn Ridge and Great Links Tor are all just a short walk away with the Granite Way cycle path running directly behind the pub. The Inn specialises in local produce and there is a large pub garden with a babbling brook running through it, which provides direct access for you and your pet to Dartmoor. There are treats in the bar and a welcome dog hamper for every four legged friend including blankets, bowls, and treats.

These rooms offer all the quirks of staying in a 13th century pub with low beams, countryside views and charming furnishings. Situated in the rafters of the thatch, Hayloft enjoys all of the quirks of staying in a 13th Century Thatched Inn. Dine with Your Dog

You can dine with your dog in the cosy bar which serves the same menu as in the restaurant. Head Chef Jason Barnard uses local produce from West Country suppliers including small artisan producers of cheese, ice cream and smoked products. Wherever possible the produce is sourced direct from the farmer, fisherman or grower. The pub’s signature dish is the Bearslake chocolate bar - truly delicious.

Being set right in the heart of Dartmoor National Park we are ideally suited for holidays with your four legged friend, we have great dog walks direct from your bedroom door and we always love to welcome dogs with their owners to our quintessential 13th century Dartmoor thatched Inn. We don’t charge for dogs to stay and also don’t have a limit on how many dogs can stay, the more the merrier! We offer dog friendly dining areas and a great wagtastic dog welcome basket, and there are always plenty of dog treats waiting on the tables when guest come down to dine. All our staff are dog owners themselves so love to get their doggy fixes from all our doggy guests.
