Built-in 1832 as staff lodgings for a local private house, the property has more recently undergone a major refurbishment, transforming the property into the luxury hotel it is today. Briery Wood is the perfect destination to relax and enjoy a country house atmosphere with all of the comforts of home. The informal and friendly service is so good, you’ll hardly notice it! Take a dog-friendly cruise along Windermere, England’s longest lake, provided by Windermere Lake Cruises and enjoy the fabulous views. The hotel also provides maps for Wansfell and Troutbeck walks for further exploring with your trusty hound.

Guests may dine in bar or lounges with their four-legged friends by special arrangement or alternatively, your pooch may relax in your room whilst you dine in the restaurant. If you fancy venturing out for food, we recommend Wateredge Inn, Ambleside or Angel Inn where four-legged friends are welcome!
