About this property

The Crown and Thistle is a dog friendly, Grade II listed coaching inn, dating back to 1605, in Abingdon. The Inn comprises three individual buildings, which blends the character of some of its original features, such as timber beams and open brickwork, with the comforts of a luxury hotel. The buildings are clustered around a delightful cobbled courtyard framed by 200 year old wisteria. The Coaching Inn retains its heritage and charm whilst offering contemporary comfort with boutique style bedrooms and charming restaurant and bar area. Located in the centre of Abingdon, the Inn makes the perfect base for you and best furry friend to explore the Oxfordshire countryside.

Take a lovely stroll from the hotel through Rye Farm Meadows along the River where you will see river wildlife and dogs are allowed to be off the lead or take a walk across the river to Culham Old Bridge which is famous for being seized by the parliamentarians in the Civil War in 1644.
