The Finch Hatton is a dog-friendly hotel, steeped in history, and set in the charming village of Ewerby, four miles from the historic town of Sleaford in Lincolnshire. Originally built as an inn then acquired by the Finch Hatton family it was run as a 'Gentleman's shooting lodge'.
The Finch Hatton family were the Earls of Winchilsea and Nottingham, who moved to the 3,700 acre Haverholme estate in 1835. Earl George William (famous for his dual with the Duke of Wellington) restored the house, initially built as priory. The family were made famous by Denys Finch Hatton - whose romance with Karen Blixin was featured in the film Out of Africa.
There are pictures and photos of the Finch Hatton and Haverholme estate in the bar and restaurant. There are 11 dog friendly bedrooms, a lovely patio areas to the side and back of the hotel, along with a small gated garden and fabulous walks from the door.
