Dog-friendly Great Fosters is an endlessly charming Tudor estate steeped in royal history, near Windsor in Surrey. Set in 50 acres of stunning gardens and parkland, which include a listed topiary garden, Saxon moat with Japanese bridge the instantly recognisable red-brick facade and chimney tops are a sight to behold as you drive up to the front door. Immaculately preserved, this stately historic monument boasts a wonderful setting and offers the perfect dog-friendly luxury break for those longing to escape the hustle and bustle with their four-legged friend. Inside, you will find a chocolate-box selection of 50 individually designed bedrooms and suites and two acclaimed restaurants. The comfy king rooms and spacious superking suites in The Cloisters are all pet friendly and give easy access to the grounds for you and your pooch. Settle into your luxury bedroom followed by a wander through the estate or explore the beautiful parkland, woodland, lake and gardens at nearby Windsor Great Park. Along the sunny eastern side of the hotel you will find stunning terraces, intimate gardens and nooks & crannies, which come alive in the summer months - perfect for enjoying an al fresco breakfast before a day spent exploring. Well behaved pooches are welcome anywhere in the grounds with the exception of the pool.

Dine with Your Dog

There are two fabulous restaurants to choose from. The Michelin starred Tudor Pass offers a truly fine dining experience in an intimate setting of only seven tables whilst The Estate Grill is a larger contemporary restaurant serving simpler dishes. Prior reservations are essential. Four-legged friends are welcome to join you on the terrace for some al-fresco dining in good weather or join you in the Cocktail Bar. Alternatively they can relax in your room whilst you indulge in a delicious meal! The hotel also offers a doggy afternoon tea where your dog can enjoy their own three tiered stand of doggy treats alongside your own slightly more refined stand afternoon tea sandwiches, scones and cakes!

Individually decorated the bedrooms and suites in the Cloisters are all pet friendly. Your dog will be welcomed with a bed, bowl and a few little treats (it is a holiday after all!). The Cloisters is reached across a pretty courtyard and the rooms overlook a Cloisters garden with lily ponds and borders. All the rooms are on the ground floor.

Luxury Super King Room

Each suite is open plan and features a lobby, lounge area, complete with coffee table and sofa, and a handmade super king bed. They benefit from the double-height of the Cloisters, giving them a sense of space, and are furnished with light pastels and Scandinavian-influenced features. Each is 31m2 and the bathrooms have a large walk in shower but no bath tub. The suites look out over a pretty Cloisters garden. Some suites can also accommodate one or two children.

Comfy King Room

The Comfy King Rooms are a very short walk across the courtyard along the charming ornamental herb garden by the Dower House. In the Cloisters, you can expect light and airy rooms with a mix of the old & new. All rooms feature a desk and separate armchairs, with most overlooking the pretty Cloisters garden. These rooms range from 19m2 and have either have walk-in showers rather than a bath tub.

Great Fosters is set amongst 50 acres of formal gardens and parkland, perfect for spontaneous walks with your pooch in tow! There is much to do in the surrounding area, with a wealth of historic, scenic and sporting attractions on the doorstep. Visit Great Windsor Park with its lake, woodlands and gardens for short and long strolls with your best friend. The Thames is also a perfect dog walking spot - park at historic Runnymede and venture west towards Windsor or east towards London. There are plenty of nearby pubs who welcome dogs including the Rose & Crown in Thorpe, The Bailiwick in Englefield Green (and right next door to Windsor Great Park) and The Fox & Hounds.
