The Great Flat Lode mining trail which is also a cycle trail can be joined nearby and offers some stunning views of both coastlines as well as being home to a multitude of old mining Engine houses. If it’s coastal scenery you’re after, you can pick up the South-West coast path at any point around the Cornish coastline, it offers breath-taking scenery, from rugged coves like Godrevy point with its resident seal colony, to quaint seaside villages and harbours dotted along the dramatic coastline. There are also several excellent cycle trails including the coast-to-coast trail from Portreath to Devoran as well as the well-known Camel Trail which runs from Padstow to Wadebridge and on to Bodmin. You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to beaches, with the north coast surfing beaches of Portreath, Porthtowan and Perranporth as well as the stunning 3-mile stretch of golden sands running from Godrevy and Gwithian to Hayle all just a short drive away.
