Guests can visit the Cornish Bird of Prey Centre for a total charge of £10 for up to 6 people for as many visits as you would like during a 7 day stay. The lodge is surrounded by fishing lakes and woodland walks for you to take advantage of the Cornish countryside right on your doorstep. The garden is the perfect place for children and dogs to play all day, fully enclosed with artificial grass and large decked barbecue and hot tub areas fully equipped with outdoor armchairs, dining furniture and sun loungers. Padstow, home to the foodie empire of Rick Stein, the celebrated TV chef, has narrow cobbled lanes that meander around this ancient fishing village and gravitate towards the working fishing harbour. Get a pasty or an ice cream and watch the boats come and go with the days catch. Padstow sits at the mouth of the Camel Estuary and you can hire bikes in the town and cycle along the flat multi-use trail that hugs the shoreline as it heads into the countryside towards the market town of Wadebridge, full of craft and gift shops and bakeries. The coastline nearby is dotted with secluded sandy coves and fishing villages which make a stunning backdrop to the South West Coast Path, which is a must if you enjoy walking and great views. Newquay, renowned for surf culture across its 11 beaches, is also easily reached with its own zoo, tennis club, cinema, ample bars, restaurants, cafés and coffee shops. Why not book some lessons with a local surf school and try your hand at this amazing sport? Port Isaac, Polzeath and Rock are all nearby and easily reached with many golf clubs in the region including The Point, St Enodoc and Merlin, enabling you to play at many clubs through the week. The south coast of Cornwall is also easily accessible and offers a completely different experience of Cornwall with tropical gardens and its own climate. Visit Falmouth, Fowey, Mevagissey, or one of the lovely beaches including Watergate Bay and Fistral Beach for a great day out. Beach 5½ miles. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
