    Location

    Directions
With its own active fishing fleet and pleasure boats, the calm waters around the village of Union Hall are ideal for water skiing, diving and canoeing. Reached by a causeway, the village is steeped in history, with castle ruins and forts scattered through the surrounding area. Today, the little town offers a selection of pubs, seafood restaurants, a supermarket, fishmongers, post office, bureau de change and the annual Union Hall Festival held every June. Boat hire is available locally, allowing visitors to explore the surrounding islands, whilst the village itself and neighbouring countryside also offer great walking opportunities. Known as the capital of West Cork, the town of Skibbereen is only seven miles away, and boasts shops, restaurants and pubs, along with the fascinating West Cork Arts Centre and Skibbereen Heritage Centre.
