Overview

Garnett Bridge is a delightful hamlet at the beginning of the beautiful and unspoilt Longsleddale Valley and just four miles from Kendal. This grade II listed Lakeland Stone Cottage, originally the home of the local miller has an abundance of oak beams and flagstone floors, an AGA and an open fire to make it cosy throughout the year. There is a comfortable lounge with beamed ceiling and open fire to snuggle up on chilly winter evenings. The dining room leads to a utility room. Climb the winding staircase up to the first floor with a double bedroom, twin bedroom with beds which can make a double and a further twin bedroom. All bedrooms have exposed wood floors and beamed ceilings, Family bathroom with shower over corner bath, hand basin and W.C.  Outside there is a lawned garden adjacent to the mill race with a seating area and parking for up to four cars on the cobbled yard. Tucked away in this peaceful haven, there are lots of walking and cycling opportunities from the door or visit Windermere and Bowness for a multitude of attractions and stunning scenery. The cottage has excellent access to and from the motorway and Lake District via Windermere for the South lakes or Penrith for the North Lakes. The Western Yorkshire Dales are a just a short, lovely drive away via the town of Sedburgh. The nearby town of Kendal (sometimes known as the gateway to the Lakes), offers a wide variety of pubs and restaurants with the Brewery Arts Centre offering live entertainment and cinema, as well as excellent dining experiences. Longsledale offers an excellent location for a holiday. A superb, iconic Lakeland Cottage, ideal for an away from it all break.
