From cosy to lofty, many of the dog-friendly bedrooms have fireplaces, lots have leafy views and the two Bootham Suites occupy what used to be a grand drawing room and a luxurious library. In all of them, you’ll find locally sourced antiques, art and curios that tell York’s stories in the most charming of ways. And just a little down the hall from all of them, you’ll find GuestHouse’s signature Pantry stocked full of complimentary treats for the taking. All rooms include Wildsmith toiletries, a Nespresso kit, kettle with tea & coffee and a record player where you can choose your music from the hotel’s record library.

Guest Room

These are what the hotel calls their standard rooms. Each is individual in its design and view as they are found all around the hotel. So, there’s nothing standard about them. They have a super-king-size bed and some can be twinner (subject to availability, please request when making your reservation).

Large Guest Room

For those who like a roomier situation, these lovely rooms leave plenty of space for kid’s and dog’s bedding after the super-king-size bed or two decent-sized single beds.

The Bootham Suites

On the first floor, in what were once the library and the drawing room when these townhouse buildings were an aristocratic home, the hotel has created two incredibly grand, born-to-be-loved suites. They are beyond generous in their proportions with handsomely high ceilings, gorgeous balconies, and super-king-size beds. Eeach suite includes a magnificent in room bath with separate shower.

The Clifton Suite

Hats off to the view from this room sitting pretty at the front of the townhouses, looking out onto where Bootham street meets the lovely neighbourhood of Clifton. It’s not just the view that inspires adoration for this room. It is a luxurious beauty of a suite with a super-king-size bed and plenty of room for little ones or four-legged ones. The bathroom has a bath with large separate shower.
