Pigwigs Place is a tranquil cottage converted from a barn in the lovely 120 acre grounds of an estate a mile from the Dartmoor village of Cornwood. Joined to an 18th century stable block, it is a comfortable and welcoming base for families or friends. From the porch you step down into a traditional open plan living space with beams, dining area and seating place with cosy wood burning stove for which the logs are provided. Head up the stairs to the three bedrooms, the children's twin a fun room lined with a fabric canopy and with a popular play area. You have a choice of a family bathroom or shower room on this level. Outside, the entertainment for children continues, with woodland for building dens, a brook to fish in for tiddlers, formal gardens for hide and seek, a large pond and stream for a spot of pond dipping and a tennis court for the grown ups. Beside the cottage is your own enclosed courtyard with barbecue and furniture for alfresco meals. Outdoor activities are all around, with the southern slopes of Dartmoor to explore with their ancient hut circles. Maybe head off to see the animals at the Dartmoor Zoo, take buckets and spades to the beach at Wembury or Mothecombe, or relax at the waterside inns at Newton Ferrers by the River Yealm. Plymouths city amenities are only about ten miles away. In a great spot for exploring Devon, Pigwigs Place is an ideal cottage for families.
