Walking and cycling tracks surround the cottages and there is easy access to the Yorkshire Wolds - one of Yorkshire’s best-kept secrets. Robin Hoods Bay is well worth a visit, where children will love the chance to search for fossils amongst the rock pools. For stunning views, Flamborough Head is a must and visitors will delight in the puffin colonies that cling to the cliff side. For an alternative day trip, York will not disappoint and meandering along the cobbled streets of ‘The Shambles’, packed with curio and antique shops, as well as many museums including The National Railway Museum and Jorvik Viking Centre will keep both adults and children alike amused for hours. Explore British heritage when visiting stately homes and halls such as Burton Agnes Hall with its large collection of Monet and Renoir paintings, or Sledmere Hall with its beautiful gardens only a 30-minute drive away. Ladysmith is a fabulous detached former farmhouse, superbly located within open countryside with uninterrupted views, yet close to the seaside resort of Hornsea and just outside the village of Brandesburton. It is situated in an idyllic rural location amidst agricultural land that grows a variety of crops. On a clear night it is possible to see the night sky in all its glory, due to the rural location there is very little light pollution. There are stunning views from every window in this very impressive holiday home, which offers comfortable and spacious accommodation for groups of friends or family wishing to make memories and enjoy some quality time together.

Ladysmith offers rural tranquillity in accommodation that offers space to relax with all the amenities and offers a well-equipped family kitchen, separate utility room and toilet. The dining room and living room has plenty of seating to accommodate everyone in the group. A short drive brings you to the village of Brandesburton where you can find a selection of pubs, restaurants, and convenience stores. A little further afield is the seaside town of Hornsea where you can stroll along the promenade or enjoy an afternoon building sandcastles. These three properties are set on a working arable farm, which was a finalist in the ’Remarkable East Yorkshire Tourism Awards’ 2018.

All lovingly converted to a very good standard and each maintains many of there original features, including beams, tiled and wooden floors. The Old Stable (ref UK31779) has been expertly restored from stable sides which feature in the open plan living area. This area also has a series of small handmade stained-glass windows set high up on the back wall, which throw light onto the first-floor corridor. They are a delight and depict a story of a working horse and her foal, so in keeping with this fabulous holiday home. On the first floor are four of the five en-suite bedrooms offering a mixture of twin and kingsize accommodation. The house bathroom is an absolute delight with a free-standing roll-top bath, tiled floors and Velux windows. The Old Barn (ref UKC998) has two bedrooms on the ground floor along with the family bathroom, and the third bedroom on the first floor. The Cart Shed (ref UKC999) has the open plan living space on the first floor and all three bedrooms are on the ground floor, all three have their own TV. All three properties have underfloor heating throughout the ground floor which provides a cosy feel.

There are great walks round the farm, as well as along the riverbank and throughout the area. This location is also popular with cyclists, so be sure to bring your bikes and enjoy this delightful setting in style. Beverley is only 2½ miles away and is well known for its racecourse, minster, many boutiques and coffee shops. The coast at Hornsea can be reached within 10 miles, where visitors will find many of its traditional amusements and its promenade. To amuse your children, why not spend a day exploring the wildlife centre at Hornsea Mere?

York is a great place for a day out and is about an hour’s drive away. The Deep at Hull is one of the UK’s biggest aquariums and is well worth a visit and is about half an hour away.

Springdale Farmhouse can be found surrounded by open countryside on top of the stunning Yorkshire Wolds, just outside the pretty village of Rudston and close to the thriving harbour town of Bridlington in North Yorkshire. Springdale Farmhouse offers three different living rooms. The main area provides seating for the full group, a warming open fire for the cooler winter months and garden access out to the hot tub. In the evening take one of the two staircases to the floors above and find a selection of bedrooms to choose from. The master bedroom offers far reaching views and includes an en-suite. There are a further four bedrooms on the first floor. The final bedroom can be found on the second floor and spans the full length of the house. With vaulted ceilings, very low beams (height approximately 5 foot) and two zip and link super king size beds, this room is ideal for the younger visitors in the group. An enclosed formal courtyard sits to the rear of Springdale Farmhouse and is a sun trap during the summer months, and to the front of the house are neatly trimmed lawns and wood fired hot tub; here you can enjoy the stunning views, keep an eye out for deer, hares and owl or simply star gaze late into the night.
Explore the many miles of walking and cycling opportunities the Yorkshire Wolds provides. A visit to this area would not be complete without taking in the wildlife spectacle of RSPB Bempton Cliffs.
