This includes a double sofa which can accommodate one additional guest if requested. A fireguard and the first basket of logs are provided. Next door is the bathroom which has a shower over the bath, a heated towel rail, toilet and sink.

    Bere Alston is a delightful village which has everything you would need during your stay including a village store, post office, bakery, chemist, butchers, and a pub. Situated in the beautiful Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and West Devon mining UNESCO world heritage site, there are plenty of countryside walks, along quiet lanes and numerous footpaths. Just upstream from Bere Alston on the river Tamar is Morwellham Quay, a tiny harbour where half the world’s copper travelled through in the 1860s, and which is now a popular visitor attraction telling the story of copper mining through history.

    For a delightful day of walking head up to the wilds of Dartmoor National Park, or discover Drakes Trail, where you can walk or cycle to your hearts content. The property is located within stunning Dartmoor National Park where you can enjoy a day of walking, while discovering the vast moorland and roam the craggy landscape, defined by forests, rivers, wetlands and rock formations or tors. The entrance to the moors is literally at the end of the driveway. Search the Neolithic tombs, Bronze Age stone circles and abandoned medieval farmhouses in this amazing landscape! The surrounding area is filled with rolling hills and magnificent scenery.
    The property is on the outskirts of the historic village of Lydford, boasting the famous Lydford Gorge with its magnificent waterfall, the 11 mile granite way takes you from Okehampton through Lydford to Meldon, passing through Meldon viaduct and the impressive Bluebell woods. not forgetting the lovely two 16th-century inns and, both so relaxing to chill out and eat.
