The sitting room with its wood burner leads into a well-equipped kitchen with access to the raised garden. The views are marvellous from the decking and hot tub, towards Edradour and the hills beyond, while to the front of the house, a small sunroom leads onto a patio, which catches the afternoon sun.
On the Pitlochry Path network, the cottage is on the doorstep of the dramatic Black Spout Waterfall walk, on the Edradour Path, one of several woodland walks in the immediate vicinity. Explore the many walks through this beautiful area, with routes through nearby Moulin and into Pitlochry itself or through miles of woodland and along banks of lochs and rivers, or up the nearby mountains and hills, including Ben Vrackie. Pitlochry itself is just a few minutes drive and is a year-round destination with many attractions throughout the year. Visit Pitlochry Dam and the Fish Ladder, with an excellent exhibition downstairs, interactive models on how electricity is created and salmon swimming up the fish ladder itself.
The town is home to the Caledonia Etape, an 81-mile circular cycle challenge, which traverses some of the most beautiful parts of Highland Perthshire. In the autumn, the Enchanted Forest is a real spectacle and well worth seeing, while the famous Theatre in the Hills, Pitlochry Festival Theatre has productions throughout the year. There really is something for everyone here in this fantastic part of Perthshire!

Outside is a private patio with seating and hot tub, where you and your loved one can soak up the sun whilst admiring the surroundings. If you can tear yourself away from this idyllic base, a short walk will bring you to a local pub serving food, whilst the nearby town of Chesterfield offers a larger selection of pubs and good restaurants.

The historic market town of Chesterfield acts as the gateway to the Peak District, and has much to offer visitors. The town is famous for its 14th-century church with its crooked spire twisting curiously from its centre, while the town offers guests the opportunity to explore the market and many of the specialist shops dotted in and out of the shambles. The town also boasts Queens Park, with its lake, walks and summer bandstand, as well as a museum and theatre. Close by you will find the impressive Elizabethan Hardwick Hall, with its six grand towers elaborately monogramed with Bess of Hardwick’s initials, overlooking the superb gardens and walled courtyards of the grounds. Also popular with visitors is the semi-ruined 17th-century mansion of Bolsover Castle, set high on a wooded hilltop, looking west towards the heights of the Peak District.

Within easy reach you will discover attractions such as Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, Matlock and Bakewell, or the opera house at Buxton. Alternatively, the Peak District offers a magnitude of walks and cycling for those feeling active. Full of character with beamed ceilings, stripped wooden flooring and is skilfully appointed and colour coordinated throughout. Relax in the comfortable sitting room with upholstered sofa and chairs beside a wood burning stove set into a pretty white washed stone hearth. The cottage now boasts a large parking area by the house for 3 cars enabling easy access and the ability to turn your car round if required. The village shop in nearby Upper Solva, has a post office and off licence, sells groceries, papers, angling supplies and offers a delivery service within the Solva area.
A century old working woollen mill with most hospitable and informative proprietors and tearoom is 200 yards away from this secluded holiday cottage in Middle Mill near Solva, a very pretty spot for a picnic by the tumbling Solva stream. Church View is a delightful semi-detached property situated in the heart of the historic market town of Alnwick. Aptly named, this immaculately presented house sits adjacent to the imposing St Paul’s Church and enjoys lovely views. The living/dining room is on the ground floor and leads to a bright and airy conservatory overlooking the well maintained enclosed garden. The property is dog friendly with an enclosed garden. Titchwell is nationally known for its RSPB nature reserve. The Norfolk Coastal Path passes a quarter of a mile from the house and Brancaster beach is a 20 minute walk, almost entirely off-road. Visit National Trust Castle Drogo and Lydford Gorge, quaint towns and Buckfast Abbey. Take a trip to Torbay, known as the English Riviera due to its unique micro-climate; take the ferry across to Dartmouth and the neighbouring town of Brixham, set on and across the River Dart. At the mouth of the river are Kingswear and Dartmouth Castles with the rocky waters of the estuary lapping at their feet. Exeter and its stunning cathedral is just a 10-mile drive, and Exeter Racecourse and Haldon are not far away. A nature trail and cycle route can be found in the Forestry Commission, 7 miles. Further south is Fantasy Island and Butlin’s for adventure filled family days out, with Skegness and its funfair and attractions including the Embassy Theatre and Cinema also offering plenty to see and do. To the north is Donna Nook Seal Sanctuary and breeding grounds, which are always well worth a visit during the breeding season with usually around a thousand seal pups born here each year.
