Mews Cottage is a beautifully presented two-bedroom, semi-detached holiday home set in the heart of Tintagel on the Northern Cornish coast. It is an original Cornish stone and slate dwelling. Whilst being within a few seconds walk on a private walk way to the hustle and bustle of Tintagel Village, you can still enjoy the peaceful serenity that Mews Cottage offers being in a small secluded area from the village. Mews has a free parking permit available which is provided by the owners.
The historical cottage, built around the 1890’s and was a former stables for a local Inn, feels bright and stylish whilst maintaining the rustic feel of the property. After an action-packed day exploring the coast, enter into the kitchen/dining area where you will find everything you need to enjoy a self-catered break. Head into the spacious lounge where you can unwind on the comfortable seating, watch a film on the smart TV whilst enjoying the glows of the electric wood burner in the background. This warm and light room has double doors which lead into the enclosed courtyard area which can create a fresh and airy feel throughout the entire day. Perfect for enjoying the warm Cornish evenings or a morning coffee. An absolute sun trap. Upstairs are two cosy bedrooms, wonderfully presented with high apexed ceilings displaying exposed wooden beams. The master bedroom offers a kingsize bed and next door is the light and airy twin bedroom. A shower room with heated towel rail completes the picture. Enjoy the fantasitic span of the countryside and a distant sea view.
Mews Cottage is just a few steps from the main street, with a variety of shops, pubs, restaurants and Tintagel Castle, the mythical home of King Arthur. There is also a good bus serivce in Tintagel so you have the option of leaving the car. The coast is within a 10-minute walk and the nearest beach at Bossiney Cove is just 1.3 miles away or a 25-minute walk across the fields. Within easy reach are the coastal villages of Boscastle and Port Isaac, the latter made famous by the TV series, ’Doc Martin’. Further along the coast are the golden, sandy beaches of Rock and Polzeath. Plenty of walking and local paths perfect for the family, and prime dog walking places on the doorstep of Mews Cottage. Trebarwith Strand a 10 minutes drive is a perfect beach for this, dog friendly all year round, but is also accessable via the coastal path past St Materiana’s church. Inverspey is a detached bungalow, set in its own grounds, enjoying uninterrupted views across open farmland to the hills and sea beyond. The interior of the cottage has been completely renovated throughout to an exceptionally high standard. The large living/dining room has deep leather sofa suites and a superb cylindrical wood burner set in the corner of the room. Floor-to-ceiling bi-fold doors open onto the large decked area and lawned garden, where there is a barbecue, gas fire pit and outdoor dining furniture. The kitchen is extremely well-equipped, with high quality built-in units. A corridor leads down to the spacious bedrooms, one of which has a zip and link kingsize bed and an en-suite shower room with a large, walk-in shower. The second bedroom has a kingsize bed and a superb en-suite wet room complete with a deep double-ended feature bath. Outside you will find the beautiful garden which extend around the property. A particular feature is a second decked area with outdoor furniture, known as the ’Prosecco deck’, a lovely spot to sit and enjoy the distant sea views whilst planning the next day’s excursion or activity. Inverspey is ideal for couples and families looking for an indulgent and luxurious holiday in a wonderful location.

Inverspey lies on the Spey Bay Trail and on the edge of Spey Bay, a beautiful hamlet that leads directly onto the bay and the River Spey. The immediate area is renowned for its wildlife with the National Scottish Dolphin and Whale Centre just a few yards from the cottage, where you can learn about the amazing bottlenose dolphins and other wildlife that are regularly seen close by, including seals, osprey, minke whale and even rare sea eagles. The centre also runs bat watching tours and the opportunity to explore the UK’s largest surviving ice house. Spey Bay is home to the largest shingle beach in Scotland. There are wonderful walks direct from the cottage along River Spey, renowned for its salmon fishing (permits available locally, in season). The Spey Bay golf course is just a few minutes’ walk away; this lovely coastal links course is open to visitors and there are discounts available for guests, who can also visit the club house, which serves meals and also has a bar. The Malt Whisky Trail is situated over nine locations in Speyside and is well worth a visit. There are numerous sporting activities locally, including sailing, kayaking, fishing, golf, cycling and hill-walking, as well as plenty of interesting places to visit within a short drive. This beautifully appointed, two-bedroom holiday cottage, which is part of a former lifeboat station and Grade II listed, is located right on the waterfront looking out across to West Cowes and the Solent. It combines the heritage of the coastguard’s boat house (where the life boats were stored) with modern architectural design, offering a bright and airy space, with exposed beams and high vaulted ceilings.
The property is 20 yards from a public slipway, so if guests had a small boat, this could be stored at the property and launched via the slipway straight out into the Medina Estuary and then onto the Solent.
The Boathouse accommodation is on the ground floor and there are lovely walks along the esplanade just outside the property. There is a large, beamed open-plan living space with two sets of patio doors leading out onto the enclosed lawned garden with waterside views. The first cosy bedroom has a kingsize bed an en-suite bathroom, whilst the second bedroom has twin beds.
There is a park nearby with a children’s play area and The Needles, its with chair lift, amusement park, boat rides, lighthouse and coloured sands of Alum Bay, is also within easy reach. Blackgang Chine, the oldest themed attraction in the UK, is nearby, and other attractions include Ventnor Botanical Gardens, Isle of Wight Pearl, Dinosaur Isle, a donkey sanctuary and Calbourne Water Mill, which has a 17th-century working watermill. Osborne House and Gardens (Queen Victoria’s holiday residence), Carisbrooke Castle and the sailing town of Yarmouth are worthy of a visit.
