The barn is situated in the grounds of a small farm, and is an ideal holiday base close to the mountains of Snowdonia. Tan Rallt Barn has plenty of space for eight people and can accommodate climbing and walking groups coming into the Snowdonia National Park. It’s a great location for outdoor enthusiasts being close to the Ogwen Valley and Zip World - the longest zipwire in the northern hemisphere, and just a short drive from Llanberis and Snowdon, with its famous mountain railway. You’ll find Penrhyn Castle (NT) just down the road, whilst Caernarfon, with its impressive castle, the Isle of Anglesey with 125 miles of coastline, Capel Curig and Betws-y-Coed are all close by. The GreenWood Forest Park at Y Felinheli, Yr Hwylfan (The Fun Centre) at Caernarfon and Electric Mountain at Llanberis are all well worth a visit. Shop 0.5 miles, pub and restaurant 3 miles. This wonderful barn conversion was completed in 2018, and the property benefits from full underfloor heating and is spread out over one level with just a couple of steps down to three of the four bedrooms. Situated in the middle of England, close to the Staffordshire and Shropshire borders, this area offers unspoilt landscapes, the Peak District National Park and world-class theme parks. The historic town of Eccleshall is around a 10-minute drive, offering many shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as an award-winning butcher, and also hosts a farmers’ market every fourth Saturday of the month.
Around 130 public footpaths cover the area, perfect for walking and exploring, and Stoke-on-Trent, Hanley (hosting the Staffordshire Hoard), Stafford and Newcastle-under-Lyme can all be reached in under half an hour. Other places of interest include Trentham Gardens and Monkey Forest and Bridgemere Garden Centre. National Trust properties Shugborough Hall and Weston Park, Shrewsbury, Ironbridge and the theme parks of Alton Towers and Drayton Manor are all around an hour away. Converted from former farm buildings, these four holiday properties (two of which have been adapted for the disabled with shower chairs available), are in the Southdowns National Park. Properties 17320 and 17321 command fine views over the surrounding countryside. 17320 also has a worktop which has been lowered for wheelchair access to the sink in the kitchen. Situated in the grounds of the family farm (non-working), they are only 100 yards from the village of Compton with village shop and tea room with free wi-fi access. Enjoy peaceful walks along a bridle path leading to the South Downs Way, 2 miles designated as a National Park. The historic cathedral town of Chichester lies 10 miles away, with its cobbled streets adorned with tea rooms and restaurants, and the ornate cathedral. Scenic boat tours can be taken around the harbour. Goodwood and Fontwell races or polo at Cowdray are all within a short drive. Portsmouth, with shopping and leisure facilities, within easy reach. These delightful properties, converted into comfortable holiday cottages, stand in the grounds of the owners’ working farm (care needed with children) and equestrian centre (guests can bring own horse or pony by arrangement). The Granary (ref W43949) is a spacious barn and has been restored, taking care to use many of the original features and characteristics of its original life as a granary – the beams, the grain bag pulley system and other unknown objects have been put to good use. Both The Coach House (ref 15661) and Hog Pits (ref 18961) are all on one level and have a cosy woodburner. They all have an enclosed garden with lovely views over the countryside. The chickens and pigs are a delight to watch in their free range enclosures. This is the perfect holiday base from which to explore the many attractions Wiltshire has to offer – just 5 miles from the M4 yet in a completely rural setting. There are many footpaths and cycle routes in the surrounding area, with the Wiltshire and Berkshire canal towpaths also nearby. Within a short drive are the picturesque villages of Lacock and Castle Combe, both favourite locations for TV and film directors. Lacock features in Harry Potter, Downton Abbey and Pride and Prejudice, and Castle Combe was the backdrop for War Horse. Chippenham is an old market town with good shopping facilities and Devizes is on the Kennet and Avon canal with the famous Caen locks. Bradford on Avon is often referred to as a ‘mini Bath’ with splendid Georgian architecture and a bustling community. The Roman spa city of Bath itself is a short drive and a must visit for a day out, with many famous sights to explore such as the museums, the abbey, Pulteney Bridge and the Roman baths to name but a few. Bowood House has magnificent gardens and adventure playground, and the famous ancient sites and stone circles at Stonehenge and Avebury are well worth a visit. Situated in this very very peaceful hamlet Llanfairynghornwy, it is perfect for those wishing for a quiet, get away from it all holiday. Spectacular walking and bird watching are available from the doorstep with the North Wales Naturalists’ Trust Cemlyn nature reserve, with its renowned sandwich tern nesting colony nearby and common and grey seals, porpoises and dolphins. Much more wildlife can be seen locally, including polecats, owls and birds of prey. Other activities available locally include golf, fishing, sailing and pony trekking.

With rolling countryside views and beautiful walks on your doorstep, Buttercup Barn really is a place to switch off and relax. Of course, if activity is your thing you will be spoilt for choice as there is so much to offer on the beautiful Isle of Wight, from watersports, horse riding, golf and much much more. There is also an extensive variety of footpaths, bridleways and cycle routes just waiting to be explored. Firestone Copse, a beautiful woodland walk, is just a short drive across the creek.
Wootton Bridge has a number of local shops, and a good choice of takeaways and pubs. There are many places of interest and all just a short drive including Osborne House, the stately holiday residence of Queen Victoria, Quarr Abbey with its resident monks, and impressive Carisbrooke Castle. The Victorian town of Ryde is also a short drive and is the second major town on the Island.
