Heading further down the coast, you can catch a ferry over to the islands of Great Cumbrae, Bute and Arran. Glasgow and Edinburgh are easily accessible for a day out and Dumfries and Galloway is only a short drive, where there are many coastal villages, sandy beaches and rocky coves to explore.
