Only 15 minutes’ drive away is historic Arundel with its magnificent castle, antique and book shops, eateries, cathedral, open air pool, wild fowl and wetlands. Slightly further is Chichester with Festival Theatre, boat tours, extensive shopping, Goodwood (Glorious Goodwood, Festival of Speed and Revival for motor racing) and Fontwell for a day at the races. Other race courses within easy reach include Brighton and Lingfield. Beaches within a 30 minute-drive include West Wittering, Worthing and the ever popular cosmopolitan city of Brighton, with its pier, Regency Royal Pavilion, theatres and art galleries.

    There are many stately homes and gardens to discover too, some of which are National Trust, including Petworth House, Goodwood House and Gardens, Nymans, Glyndebourne, Sheffield Park and Borde Hill. Also within easy driving distance is Cowdray for polo. For bird lovers and wildlife, visit nearby RSPB Pulborough. There are various golf clubs all within easy reach, and horse riding too.
