Wernddu Fechan Bungalow is perfect for an extended family break or friends alike looking to explore this fabulous area. The property has full wheelchair access and ramp level access to the ground floor, there is a ground floor double room and walk-in shower for those with reduced mobility. A great open kitchen/dining room leads to the rear garden through French doors – perfect for al-fresco dining! There is an enclosed grassed area for the dogs to run about freely and a paddock to the side of the property (not fully enclosed). The living room is perfect for a night in or relaxing in front of the wood burner with a glass of something refreshing.
For your comfort there are digital thermostats downstairs that control the underfloor heating, with additional, separate controls for the master bedroom and hallway. Upstairs has individual thermostatic radiator valves. The patio area outside to the front of the property has glass balustrades surrounding the front of the property and to the rear is a patio area and grassed garden. Both Neath town centre and Swansea are easily accessible being approximately 4-5 miles from the property.
The Neath Valley in South Wales is an increasingly popular area for UK holidays. The location lends itself well to those looking to explore the diverse countryside of the area. With cycle paths and walking trails on your doorstep, there is plenty to explore.
The valley is home to some of Wales’s most impressive waterfalls, including Aberdulais, Melincourt, Pontneddfechan and Sgwd yr Eira. Impressive hills will keep you busy, head to Afan Forest Park, 20 minutes away, for hilly bike trails or Penyfan in the Brecon Beacons, which is the tallest peak in South Wales.
For family fun days out, the National Showcaves Centre for Wales at Dan yr Ogof, The National Botanic Gardens, Folly Farm, quad biking and Zip World are firm favourites in the area. Aberavon beach is 8½ miles away, or visit the famous beaches of the Gower Peninsula, The Mumbles and Swansea Bay are all within 40 minutes or less. Pendine sands, Tenby, Carmarthen, Bridgend (McArthur Glen Designer Outlet Village), Cardiff, Newport, Prince of Wales Stadium are all within an hour’s drive. The Penderyn Whisky distillery is under 30 minutes away where tours are available. Multiple local golf courses are available as is some of the best Salmon and Sewin (Seatrout) fishing in the UK on the rivers Towy, Teifi, Gwilli and Cothi, a personal ghillie can even be arranged for you. It is a perfect base for anyone wishing to fish the Golden Grove or Abercothi Estates waters. Other coarse and flyfishing lakes and reservoirs are also available. Horse riding with a local equestrian centre is also available.
All in all you could not find a more centrally located place for a holiday in South Wales.

The market town of Acle, 15 minutes’ drive, also has a railway station, supermarket, shops and cafés.
The Norfolk Broads National park offers miles of much-celebrated waterways to explore, daily boat hire and river trips excursions available. Wroxham, capital of the Broads is just 23 minutes’ drive with riverside restaurants and shops. Wonderful sandy beaches can be found along the Norfolk coastline; Great Yarmouth has plenty of traditional seaside family activities. The owners have a dedicated pottery class studio and guests are invited to enjoy a free one hour lesson when stopping at this delightful property should they wish with the owner and you can have your creations sent home.

Arrive in style, the lime tree boulevard entrance opens into the 100-acre private Worstead Park, boasting a 10-acre fresh water lake, woodland and meadows with wild flowers. A natural habitat rich with bird and wildlife, with roaming red deer and excellent bird watching opportunities. There are tremendous circular cycling routes via Dilham Canal and a wealth of opportunity for walking direct from the doorstep, so do remember to pack your walking boots. The woodland is rich with wildlife and bird life, so be sure to bring your binoculars. Red deer, otters, herons, a family of swans and kingfishers can all be viewed in their natural habitat.
Estate Cottage has been tastefully styled boasting character and offering modern day comforts. Formerly, home to the head gardener, for the 16th century owner of the estate, Sir Robert Berney, whose portrait hangs proudly above the original fireplace in the living room, complete with wood burner. The cart shed offers table tennis for guests’ enjoyment or simply relax in the private electric hot tub for six.
The park has links to public footpaths and bridal ways including Weavers Way, winding 61 miles through the North Norfolk countryside, with Dilham canal and the famous Norfolk Broads within walking distance. One of the best ways to enjoy the estate is on horse back, and the equestrian centre by the park entrance is where you can hire a horse for the day or house your own horse, with a variety of livery options available. The centre is also registered with Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) charity.
The market town of North Walsham, 5½ miles, has a good selection of shops, supermarkets, bank, a weekly market, bowling alley, leisure centre with swimming pool, restaurants, and cafés. Worstead church is a superb 14th-century building, full of historic and architectural interest. Wroxham, the capital of the Norfolk Broads is 6½ miles for daily boat hire and river trips, waterside restaurants, cafés and shops. It also has a train station with links to Norwich city, 14 miles, for excellent shopping centres, theatre, market, castle museum, cathedral, cafés and restaurants, and coast and Bure Valley Steam Railway; a nostalgic 18-mile trip by steam on Norfolk’s longest narrow gauge railway which runs between the historic market towns of Aylsham and Wroxham, with wayside halts serving the picturesque Broadland villages of Brampton, Buxton and Coltishall, where you can hop off and on to explore by foot. The popular seaside town of Cromer, 15 miles, has a beach, promenade gardens, pier, shops, cafés and restaurants. Tregrill Farm, where the owner lives on-site, is ideally located for visiting the whole of Cornwall, South Devon, Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor, with countryside walks accessible directly from the door. The stunning South Cornwall coast, with its attractive fishing villages such as Polperro and Looe as well as the famous South West Coastal Path, is a short drive away. The fishing port of Looe can also be reached by taking the scenic train journey from Liskeard, 2 miles away. The maritime city of Plymouth is only a 30-minute drive away with the National Marine Aquarium and its historic Barbican district. The fantastic Eden Project, 10 miles, Cotehele and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are amongst the many wonderful Cornish gardens and historic houses which are within easy reach of Tregrill Farm. The Rame Peninsula, known as Cornwall’s Forgotten Corner, is close by with picturesque villages and quiet beaches and Whitsand Bay, which is popular with surfers, is only 12 miles away. Water sports such as windsurfing, canoeing and fishing can also be enjoyed at Siblyback Lake, 5 miles; Adrenalin Quarry and karting are less than a mile away. Beach 8¾ miles. Orchard Barn is a luxurious and spacious three-bedroom barn conversion just outside the small village of South Tawton. Set on a working farm close to Dartmoor National Park, it has been lovingly renovated by the owners in 2021 and lies in a rural setting.

Standing detached, it greets guests with a delicious welcome pack of thoughtfully provided fresh local produce. The owners can supply award winning meat (105 awards) for your stay and their neighbour can supply you with quiches, scones, so you can have a night free from cooking.
The open plan living space includes a well-equipped kitchen and a lovely dining and living area with a wood burner for the cooler months and air conditioning for the summer. The kitchen has a beautiful island worktop with a couple of stools, the perfect spot to plan your day over a morning coffee, and later you can gather round the striking oak dining table for a celebratory meal. The spacious living area combines traditional features of the barn with contemporary touches, and heading upstairs you will find three comfortable bedrooms, each with a super kingsize bed (two of the zip and link bedrooms can be split to accommodate four children in one bedroom if required), two with an en-suite shower room, and the other bedroom has use of the family bathroom featuring a luxurious roll-top bath.

Sit outside and enjoy peace in the garden beside the apple orchard, with its outdoor seating, picnic benches and barbecue with complimentary pack of charcoal. There is also an outside dog shower with hot and cold water. The external games room is a great additional space, featuring a table tennis, pool table, space to store bicycles and surfboards, a washing machine and a tumble dryer.

Set on the north eastern edge of the stunning Dartmoor National Park with walks and cycle paths from your doorstep, you can easily explore the beautiful surrounding countryside and discover the local wildlife, including the iconic Dartmoor ponies. Okehampton is a short distance way and has a good selection of shops, amenities and castle, or walk along the Tarka Trail and the old railway to Meldon reservoir. National Trust Castle Drogo is also nearby for a visit, and Devon’s bustling resorts and beautiful beaches are just a short drive away, including Teignmouth, Dawlish and Exmouth (reached in 40 minutes).

Popular with walkers, the Ayrshire Coastal Path is close by with 100 miles of superb coastal walking to enjoy, with a superb backdrop of the ever-changing profile of the mountains of Arran across the Firth of Clyde. The River Ayr Way, a 40 miles source to sea walk, is also easily accessed. There are many gardens and castles to visit, and activities such as horse riding, racing and golf are available nearby. The world famous Turnberry golf course, with fantastic spa facilities and outdoor centre, and Royal Troon Golf Club are close by.

Culzean Castle National Trust and Dumfries House are spectacular and are among Ayrshire’s most popular tourist attractions. The Galloway Forest Park is easily accessed and is Britain’s largest forest park, with 300 square miles of wild beauty waiting to be explored. The park boasts tranquil valleys, rugged rock faces, forest, moorland, lochs, ancient woodland and a huge diversity of wildlife including red and roe deer, wild goats and many birds of prey. The park has also been awarded the status of one of only four Dark Sky Parks in the western world and when the sun sets, enthusiasts come to wonder at the universe revealed above. Day trips to Ireland can be taken from Cairnryan, and a short drive leads to Ayr, a traditional seaside town.
